1. Who we are

The Long View ("we", "us") publishes general educational content about investing at this website. You can reach us at yanli20140223@gmail.com or through our contact page.

2. The short version

We do not ask you to register, we do not sell your data, and the calculators on this site run entirely in your browser — nothing you type into them is transmitted to us. We do use third-party advertising, which involves cookies set by Google. Details below.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically a name, an email address and your message. We use it to reply and, if relevant, to correct published content. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you load a page: IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages requested. This is used for security and for aggregate traffic measurement. It is not linked to a personal identity by us.

What we never collect

We never ask for brokerage account details, portfolio holdings, or any financial information about you. If you email us, please do not include any — we cannot protect what we do not have, and we do not need it to answer questions about our published guides.

4. Cookies and advertising

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. Guides link to external sites — fund providers, regulators, public research. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We do not use affiliate links, and no link on this site is compensated.

If you have emailed us, you can ask what we hold, request a correction, or ask us to delete it — write to yanli20140223@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Under GDPR and similar frameworks you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
